Re: Your story of February 26, "Trump to skip correspondents' dinner"
By declining and skipping the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner this year, President Donald Trump is showing his "vengeance is mine" attitude to our nation and the world.
After years of Trump falsely defaming President Obama's birthplace, they both attended the Correspondents' Dinner in 2011. In the "roast manner," the honored guest, President Obama, demolished Trump regarding his handling of the "Apprentice" reality TV show.
When the TV camera focused on Trump's reaction to the president's remarks, it was clear he was seething. Many viewers thought this was the moment when Trump decided with certainty that he would run for president and wreak his revenge on President Obama.
In showing his contempt for the media, Trump is proving his ignorance of the First Amendment, calling them the "enemy of the people." By continuing his campaign rallies with his voters only, he's showing his disfavor of the majority of Americans who didn't vote for him.
Trump needs to be reminded he's president of all the people.
